Well, I haven't much to say really, but my arm is acting up a bit, so I thought that I would give painting a rest today. I could do my taxes, but excuses come to mind fast and furious in order to avoid that job.
I wish I had a funny story to relate, or at least a story that wouldn't be potentially troublesome if posted.
Oh, I do have a funny story. Alex and I went to a Classical Persian music concert yesterday, at Alix Goolden Hall. For those of you who haven't been there, the hall was once an United Church, and a balcony from that time remains to provide some of the best seats in the house. Alex and I got the best seats in the house; front row balcony, centre! We were happy, we settled in, then, the theme of the past months recurred. Bad neighbours moved in.
The woman next to us smelt like old fried food, stale cat, and an entire pack of Player's. Then woman behind us actually managed to hit my head with her ass. She also leaned over Alex during the concert, breathing her wintergreen breath all over. We heard her running commentary, on anything and everything, delivered in a voice not unlike a tractor engine. And to add insult to injury, Alex spent the entire concert inhaling someone's gaseous byproduct, all the while thinking it was me. When I told him, (honest everyone,) that in spite of my wishes and positive thinking for a big fart to come along to revenge the chain smoker beside me, that the culprit wasn't me, the look on Alex's face was priceless.
Alex and I are going to Hawaii, the Big Island, just after Easter. We found a really cheap fare, $287 each way, and the only transfer is through L.A.

Ahhh, The Elusive Rock Crab!
Well, the best that can be said of this crabbing adventure was that we met a bunch of kids at Sidney Pier who really made me laugh. Alex and I donated the crabs we caught, as they were too small, to the kids' puddle. Subsequently, I found myself telling the youngest to "Stop poking at the crab!" and "Please be nice to those crabs, we could have eaten them, rather than give them to you guys!"
This was our first catch, sea stars are hideous to touch...

Our Catch
This guy would not let go. In fact, we needed the help of one of the aforementioned kids to untangle him from our trap.

Help!
Hi All!I think all of you are familiar with the issues we had in the old apartment. As of today, I have phoned the Victoria police twice, in order to get the neighbour next door in our new place to turn down the bass. Beth, Paul, if you are reading this, we will give you tons of notice before we move...anyone else, if you know of a housesitting job, let us know. I gave myself tendinitis cleaning out the old place...so you can imagine what it takes for me to want to move again. Scotch has become a friend...

Another post today! Pender Island...
Well, What can I say? Alex and I spent the weekend harassing the wildlife on Pender Island. The following photos are the results.
Cool anaenome (spelling, anyone?)
What is there to say? This dog took the longest piss I have ever seen; long enough for me take out my camera, fumble with the settings, and focus the lens. And still he peed.
Auto portrait:

Alex at the tidal pool.
The Chicken Hat

This crab has personality. He was in attack mode for quite some time.

Can you find the fish below in the following frame?

Cool mushroom, and example of the macro feature on my camera.
To all you doubting Thomases out there, Alex and I caught a crab, on purpose, on Pender. Out of compassion, (the crab was too small, and lacked pincers) we let him go. So far, we have caught two rock crabs, with one pincer between them, (one out of four pincers isn't too bad) and two ugly, spidery kelp crabs.

Too small, but at least he has two pincers.
I call this crab Fashion Crab. He seemed to enjoy posing for the camera.

Natalie's 30th Birthday, the nice photos
Here are the photos from my 30th Birthday Party. Not all of you are on here, I am afraid, but I figured that no picture is better than a stinky one! I think I have the knack of the camera now...so future photos should be better!
Thanks again for coming, and I am sorry that some of you couldn't make it!
